17-21 March 2011
Deb and Tom joined Sunshine Coast Adventures in the Florida Keys for an exciting live-aboard learn-to-sail cruise, including successful completion of ASA101 Basic Keelboat Sailing and ASA103 Basic Coastal Cruising certifications. St Patrick's Day, the "Supermoon," and the Spring Equinox were all part of this celebration of sailing, learning, fishing, laughing, eating, and sleeping at anchor. Mostly sunny; temperatures ranging from the upper 60's at night to the low 80's during the day. One short duration rain squall just before dawn on the fourth day (to conveniently wash the salt off the deck). Winds northeast to east 10-15 and 15-20 knots. Anchorages: Rodriguez Key (Oceanside), Matecumbe Bight, and Cotton Key (Bayside). Passage under the Channel 5 fixed bridge and through the Snake Creek Bascule Bridge. Thanks for a great trip!

"Jeff -
You are an amazing individual and an awesome instructor. You're patient, your [PowerPoint] slides were very clear, and your attitude about learning to sail is the best - just to relax, enjoy it, and trust your instincts."
